A new digital platform dedicated to Ukraine's water supply and wastewater management sector has gone live, offering a practical resource to rebuild and modernise critical water infrastructure.
The Ukrainian Water Portal was developed by the Ukrainian Association of Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises "Ukrvodokanalekologiya", with the support of CRD and Ecoclub, as part of the EU-funded LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project.
The portal is designed as a long-term knowledge hub, bringing together industry data, technical solutions, analytical reports, training materials, and supplier profiles in a single accessible space. It is intended to serve professionals across the water secto, from utility operators and engineers to local authorities, government officials, and international partners.
Practical knowledge for a sector under pressure
Ukraine's water and wastewater sector faces exceptional challenges. Years of underinvestment, combined with the destruction caused by Russia's war of aggression, have placed severe strain on infrastructure and the communities that depend on it.
The portal’s goal is to help strengthen the capacity of Ukraine’s water supply and wastewater sector restore damaged infrastructure, implement modern technical, managerial, and financial approaches, and support the sector’s gradual alignment with European principles and standards that contribute to enhancing the resilience, service quality, energy efficiency, safety, and long-term capacity of water and wastewater utilities.
It is intended to serve professionals across the water sector, from utility operators and engineers to local authorities, government officials, and international partners. The portal aims to facilitate also professional training, and the expansion of cooperation among water stakeholders.
Add your contributions
The portal is open to contributions from organisations active in the sector. Interested parties can submit news, materials, documents, and training resources directly via the platform. The EU4Green Recovery East programme, which supports environmental reforms and water governance across the Eastern Partnership countries, welcomes this initiative as a complementary resource for the water community in Ukraine.

The LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project, whose full title is "LIFE Ukrainian Urban Water Management Capability Springboard", is co-financed by the European Union under the LIFE programme (the EU's dedicated funding instrument for environment and climate action), and implemented by Ukrvodokanalekologiya, CRD, and Ecoclub. The EU4Green Recovery East programme (2025–2028) is an EU-funded initiative supporting a circular economy and pollution reduction across Eastern Partnership countries.
